The MINI Clubvan (pictured) has been axed in the US after just 50 sales
The MINi Clubvan – a van version of the Clubman – arrived in 2012 as a concept and instantly evoked fond memories of the original Mini van that used to roam UK roads with the black and yellow livery of the AA. By the time the new MINi Clubvan arrived as a production model last summer – and debuted at the 2012 Goodwood FoS – it had changed little from the concept, but looked set for success as a funky little local delivery vehicle. And it does seem as though the Clubvan is selling quite well, with florists and posh food delivery firms jumping on the Clubvan as a great way to move their product to customers, and look just that bit different in the process.
The Renault Sport RS 01 is the company's first series-production result of its intention to re-enter the sports car segment, as signalled by the DeZir and Alpine A 110-50 concepts. The car, however, is a track-only creation for the World Series by Renault racing championships. While we usually wouldn't cover racing cars, Renault's design department has clearly been heavily involved in the RS 01's development.
Saab is continuing its search for a partner to help it build a new entry-level car and the company also wants to build vehicles for other automakers at its factory in Sweden, Chairman Victor Muller said. "We are talking with other manufacturers to buy a platform or drivetrain technology for this entry-level car," Muller told Automotive News Europe. "It should come as soon as possible, in 2014 the earliest."
Muller said the car would be priced at about 20,000 euros, or about $28,300 at current exchange rates.
